Onkyo M-80 Power Amplifier

The Icon Series, developed to be the icon of the Onkyo brand, is the culmination of Onkyo's accumulated and continuously evolving sound creation technologies. Engineered by Onkyo's veteran Osaka team, whose work today extends across some of the industry's most respected audio brands.

The M-80 is the dedicated muscle of the Icon Series: a two-channel power amplifier built to drive real-world loudspeakers with speed, control, and clean current delivery:

• Power — 130W per channel at 8Ω (FTC-rated) / 200W per channel at 4Ω, Class A/B, with high-current delivery for demanding loads
• Output stage — three-stage Inverted Darlington design for very low output impedance and authoritative speaker control, with low negative feedback to stay resolving and stable under real speaker loads
• DIDRC — Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry in the driver stage, reducing ultra-high-frequency noise for a smoother, more natural presentation
• Current delivery — parallel output-stage transistor configuration for strong instantaneous current supply, built for explosive transients
• Construction — three-piece housing (aluminum side panels, steel top panel) for added rigidity and vibration suppression; fanless design with extruded aluminum heat sink for silent operation
• Connectivity — balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, Speaker A/B terminals, and 12V trigger input for integration with a compatible preamp
